Little FISH Program

CGI Italia is proud to announce the launch of its “Little FISH Program” to sponsor academic efforts involving FISH technology. This program will provide  undergraduate, graduate, and training physician students with FISH Probes at a significant discount, and aims to encompass research projects as well as training and certification programs teaching the FISH technique. Laboratory reagents can represent an expense that may be difficult for academic laboratories and training programs to manage, and by giving students a little help, CGI Italia hopes to support research and promote FISH technology in the management of cancer around the globe. For any request, please contact your local distributor or CGI Italia at contact@cancergeneticsitalia.com.

A word from Dr. Chaganti.

Dear Colleague,

As you may know, several years ago I founded Cancer Genetics Inc., whose subsidiary, CGI Italia, is manufacturing and distributing FISH Probes to the clinical and academic communities worldwide. CGI Italia is now celebrating its fourth year of business, and is offering an array of high quality products with an oncology focus. Indeed, CGI Italia offers 31 FISH Probes that are CE marked (also available as RUO – “Research Use Only”) and cover the most relevant FISH panels for hematological and solid tumors. I may mention that CGI Italia was the first to launch a CE marked ALK Break Apart Probe in the EU. In addition to commonly used FISH Probes, we have also developed a set of proprietary probes to detect chromosomal aberrations diagnostic of HPV-associated cancers.  These are now offered as CGI’s FISH Based HPV-Associated Cancer Test (FHACT™). FHACT™ is currently available as RUO.

Throughout my career, I have mentored numerous graduate students and postdoctoral fellows; therefore supporting academic research effort in Cytogenetics is especially dear to me. Recognizing this, CGI has decided to create a program to sponsor scientific research in India utilizing the FISH technology. This “Little FISH Program” provides graduate students and physicians in training with FISH Probes at a significant discount. The list of products available to students is disclosed monthly through our distribution network, and is also directly accessible though our website (www.cancergeneticsitalia.com). Laboratory reagents can represent an expense that may be difficult for academic laboratories to manage. Therefore, by giving students a little help, we hope to support their research and promote FISH technology in the management of cancer.

Please feel free to contact CGI Italia directly (contact@cancergeneticsitalia.com) for further information.

Sincerely,

Raju Chaganti, Ph.D.,FACMG
