AML1/ETO
Two Color, Two Fusion Translocation Probe
Ref: 12-005
The AML1/ETO (also named RUNX1/RUNX1T1) DNA-FISH Probe is designed to detect the translocation involving the AML1 (RUNX1) gene on chromosome 21q22 and the ETO (RUNX1T1/ MTG8) gene on chromosome 8q22 by fluorescence in situ hybridization (FISH). This translocation generates an AML1-ETO fusion protein and is detected in 12% of de novo AML cases and in up to 46% of cases in the AML subtype M2.[1,2] The detection of the t(8;21) is clinically relevant because it is generally associated with a favorable prognosis and particularly with high-dose cytorabine-based consolidation chemotherapy.[3]
